The Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation’s 2025 Alan Kreuzer Memorial Award was presented to Matt Dinger and Jack Young for their work protecting the numismatic marketplace from counterfeits and scams.
The presentation took place on Friday, September 26, at 11 a.m. in Room 12 of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, during the Great American Coin and Collectibles Show.
Dinger and Young each received the Alan Kreuzer Memorial Award, which honors individuals who work to protect the numismatic marketplace by identifying fakes and warning the public about scams. Don Ketterling, a member of the ACEF Board of Directors, presented the awards.
The honor is named for the late Alan “Al” Kreuzer, a Castro Valley, California coin dealer known for exposing counterfeit certification holders and false insert labels. After his death in 2016, his daughter, Chandra, donated $50,000 to help establish the Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force, which has since become part of ACEF’s work. Each award medal is a three-inch antique bronze piece featuring a Heraldic Eagle on the obverse and the recipient’s name engraved on the reverse.
Following the presentation, Dinger, Young, and Ketterling participated in a live taping of the Coin Show Podcast. Both events were open to the public.
ACEF also maintained a presence at the Great American Coin and Collectibles Show on September 26 and 27 with a table near the convention entrance, offering free “COPY” stamping for counterfeit coins brought in by collectors who unknowingly purchased them from online sellers.
The Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by donations. Contributions can be made online at www.acefonline.org.
