Piret Named 2014 Elvira Clain-Stefanelli Memorial Award Winner

Diane Piret will be recognized as the 2014 recipient of the American Numismatic Association's Elvira Clain-Stefanelli Memorial Award for Achievement in Numismatics on Aug. 8, during the Awards Banquet at the Chicago World's Fair of Money® in Rosemont, Illinois.

The Elvira Clain-Stefanelli Memorial Award for Achievement in Numismatics was established and first given in 2013 to Elvira Clain-Stefanelli and honors women who have made significant contributions to numismatics. These contributions, whether in research, leadership or mentorship, must have made a lasting impact on the numismatic community and demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the betterment of numismatics.

"I'm extremely honored and humbled to be the recipient of this award." Piret said. "It's very special."

Piret has been working professionally in numismatics for more than 40 years. Her experience spans from small town shops to international trading of the industry's major market makers. Piret is currently the industry affairs director at the Industry Council for Tangible Assets and has been working there since 1989.
