Shooting simple photos from your smart phone or personal camera can lead criminals right to your location—with pinpoint accuracy using the Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites.
Many smartphones automatically geo-tag their photos by default. Users who prefer not to reveal their location should turn this feature off.
