The $30.2 billion Republican-crafted budget proposal passed both houses in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, but was soon vetoed by Governor Wolf.

Speaking with Pennsylvania Legislative Research Analyst Kurt Bellman, we learned that there is no sales-tax increase in the budget, so the exemption for investment metal bullion and investment coins is safe for now.

The governor’s administration officials and legislative leaders are back in negotiations working on resolving their differences on a 2015-16 state budget.

Since the outcome is uncertain right now, it’s a wait and see attitude. We will continue to closely monitor the negotiations and alert everyone of any action on this budget.
